Deep cleaning bathroom checklist

Deep cleaning your bathroom involves cleaning your bathroom in all the nooks and crevices for a satisfying clean.

• Declutter open areas

10 steps to a perfectly clean bathroom

Step 1. Gather your cleaning supplies

The first step to a thorough bathroom cleaning is ensuring you have all the necessary cleaning supplies to keep your bathroom looking its best. You'll stay focused and do the task as fast as possible if you bring everything to your bathroom rather than going to and from it in search of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Step 2. Declutter 

Find a big box and place all the small items in your bathroom to hasten the cleaning procedure. Remove items that you can move. If possible, the only things that should be left in the room are the plumbing and mirrors.

Step 3. Begin at the ceiling 

The most significant yet frequently ignored part of your bathroom is the ceiling. Mold growth on the ceiling and dust accumulation in that area will rob your bathroom of its shine if you clean every other part but leave them uncleaned. To make your bathroom appear brighter, periodically and thoroughly clean the ceiling.

Step 4. Tile and mirror cleaning

Every glass and mirror surface in the bathroom needs to be scrubbed thoroughly. After washing your mirror and glass with your cleaning mixture, use a microfiber cloth or a crumpled newspaper to clean the mirror and glass shelves.

When it comes to tile cleaning, it is best to clean the tile from the bottom up and rinse the cleaning solution and water from the top down.

If anything prevents you from reaching the top tiles, remove them in advance and use a stool if it's too high.

The bathroom tile must be washed twice. Once with detergent, lightly rinsing off the foam, then again with detergent and rubbing, and finally with water to complete. Or you can simply use a tile spray and let it sit for a short while. Then scrub and rinse.

Step 5. Clean the bathroom sinks and faucets

Sinks and faucets should be cleaned using a specific solution designed to shine faucets and pipes. They should be patted dry with a soft cloth after washing to avoid dripping. Powders should not be used to prevent scratching the surface.

A stiff brush and liquid soap solution can clean old drips and grime off the shower cabin's surface.

When cleaning bathtubs, use liquid cleaning solutions rather than crystalline powders to avoid scratching the surface. Remove filth from the bathtub and sink, such as rust and limescale. Do not clean the bathtub with toilet cleaner since it will erode the more delicate surface of the bathtub.

Apply a cleaning product to dirt and rub it with a sponge to clean stains. If the bathtub and sink stains remain after such cleaning, keep the cleaning gel or cream on the surface for 5-10 minutes. Then, using a sponge and detergent, scrub the tub and sink again and rinse with water.

Step 6. Wash the mat and curtain

The shower curtain should be removed and soaked in a container of soapy water for 30 minutes. After which, it should be rinsed until the soapy water is gone. If the curtain is extremely soiled, try a bleach-water solution to get rid of streaks and dry patches for good.

The rubber mat, usually found near the bath, should be cleaned in warm water with washing powder. You can put it back only once it has thoroughly dried in the fresh air.

Step 7. Clean the floors

After you've cleaned everything, wipe down the floors with a damp cloth to remove any remaining splashes and dust. Soapy water is recommended for heavy soiling. To avoid slipping, finish by wiping the bases with a dry cloth.

Step 8. Place items in their original position

Please return to the box from the beginning and sort through all the jars and tubes, throwing away the expired or rarely used ones, putting them in another room, and wiping the dusty ones. Remember to wipe the exterior and inside of cream and gel caps to prevent bacteria from starting up the leftovers of cosmetics.

Get separate baskets and boxes for small items to make it easier to organize and store everything. At the same time, employ closed storage to prevent water stains and dust from remaining on items.

Step 9. Disinfect Only When Necessary

It would be best if you only disinfected after you've cleaned. Use a disinfectant spray or several wipes on high-touch areas or unclean spots, such as cabinet and faucet handles, door knobs, and the toilet seat. It would be best to use a disinfectant wipe to clean up any spills on the floor or walls near the toilet.

Step 10. Final Touches

To finish your bathroom cleaning:

1. Empty the trash can and wipe off the lid if it has one.
2. Refill your soap dispensers so that no one runs out of soap when they most need it.
3. Make sure you have plenty of toilet paper and other supplies.
4. Replace your washed and dried bath mats with new towels.

Turn on the hot water in the sink and the bathroom, close the door, and turn off the ventilation to save time and make cleaning easier. Allow the steam to flood the room: it helps detergents operate faster and makes cleaning surfaces easier. Furthermore, hot water removes detergent more effectively. Rinse the bathroom, sink, and walls well.

A misted mirror may be cleaned of toothpaste streaks and splashes with a microfiber cloth and no home chemicals.
